1. Liquor Control Forum: Councilmember Craig Rice is hosting a “Get to Know Your Department of Liquor Control Forum” tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville. Here are more details.

2. Sherwood Meets BOE: There’s a Sherwood Cluster meeting with the Montgomery County Board of Education starting at 5:30 p.m. The meeting is at Farquhar Middle School’s cafeteria in Olney. Here’s the agenda.

3. Coffee with a Cop: Police officers from Montgomery County Police and Gaithersburg Police are meeting with community members at the McDonald’s on North Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

4. Five for Freedom: Montgomery County Historical Society is hosting a discussion about the book “Five For Freedom: The African American Soldiers in John Brown’s Army” at 7 p.m. at the Red Brick Courthouse in Rockville. Here are more details.

5. MCM Members Mixer: MCM is holding a Members’ Mixer to kick off 2019. It’s an exciting opportunity to mix and mingle with MCM crew and producers while enjoying free food, drinks, and MCM swag. The event is tonight from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at our office in Rockville.
