Canceled: Gaithersburg’s ‘Paws in the Park’ Event Makes its Return

UPDATE: The “Paws in the Park” event scheduled for Sunday, April 30 is canceled due to weather.

ORIGINAL: Gaithersburg’s “Paws in the Park” event is set to return on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm. The event, sponsored by the Montgomery County Humane Society in partnership with the City of Gaithersburg, was last held in 2019 and is eagerly anticipated by area pet lovers.

The festival will feature a one-mile dog walk, a canine agility course and competition, contests and games for both dogs and their owners, kids activities, music and food vendors. Contests include dog-owner lookalike, best dressed and best tricks.

Admission to the festival is $18 for individuals and $30 for a family of up to four people when pre-registered online. Children 12 and under and dogs attend for free. On-site entrance fees are $20 per person and $36 for a family of up to four.

Paws in the Park is a signature special event of the Montgomery County Humane Society, raising funds to help homeless and abandoned animals throughout Montgomery County. In its 22nd year, the festival is one of the largest dog walks in the DC area and features dozens of exhibitors showcasing pet-related products and services.
