Haskins Talked of ‘Being Able to Live Out My Dream’ of Playing in NFL

The shock of Dwayne Haskins’ death has not waned several hours after the 24 year-old Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback was killed after being struck on highway I-595 in Fort Lauderdale, Fl Saturday morning.

Haskins, a former standout player at Bullis School in Potomac, was one of the best high school football players and athletes to ever come out of Montgomery County. He went on to a stellar career at Ohio State capped off by his junior year when he threw 50 touchdown passes, earning him a trip to New York as a Heisman Trophy finalist.

In April 2019, on a night when he was receiving an award at the annual Touchdown Club Awards Gala, Haskins talked to MyMCMedia a week before being drafted by Washington in the NFL Draft.
