Kensington Man Wins $50,000; Powerball Jackpot Reaches $620 Million

A Kensington man is $50,000 richer after claiming his winnings from the Dec. 13 Powerball drawing at Maryland Lottery Headquarters in Baltimore.

The anonymous winner won the prize with a ticket he purchased at Woodmont Market in Bethesda. Only 21 players nationwide won a $50,000 prize in the Dec. 13 drawing.

Drawings occur three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The jackpot for Saturday’s drawing is estimated at $620 million, making it the fourth jackpot this year to climb above half a billion dollars.

Powerball tickets cost $2 per play. Powerball drawings are broadcast live every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. EST from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee, Florida. Powerball drawings are also live streamed on Powerball.com.
