Leon Perkins was found dead in his Silver Spring apartment in the 1500 block of Heather Hollow Circle on Dec. 1. He was in his wheelchair and pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation revealed that Perkins’ body had suffered trauma.

He was being cared for by Parker, a family relative. Parker called Perkins’ wife to report that her husband had fallen. When she arrived at the apartment, he was already deceased, according to MCP.

Perkins’ body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy was conducted.

Parker was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond.
