MCPD Donation Helps Gaithersburg Kid’s COVID-19 Community Efforts

The current climate between police and communities nationwide has been on edge lately, but locally MCPD is working to bridge the gap.

The Montgomery County Police Department recently donated much needed items to 7-year-old youth activist Cavanagh Bell of Gaithersburg. The young nonprofit founder and his organization, Cool & Dope, were honored by MCPD for serving people in need throughout the county with everyday necessities including groceries and masks. Police donated food to Bell’s Community Pantry. So far, the first grader has helped provide supplies for about 5,000 people locally, including senior citizens and families heavily impacted by COVID-19.

MyMCMedia spoke with Bell to get more details on how this special delivery made him feel and his plans for the donated items.
