Officer Who Helped Save Driver From Burning Car: ‘We Are Out to Help People’

At 1:25 a.m. on March 12, two Montgomery County police officers came upon a burning car with a driver still inside.

Officer Nathan Rodgers and Sgt. B. Drew sprung into action to save the driver.

Rodgers, who completed the police academy in Jan. 2021, said it feels good that people can see the rescue footage and experience positive news.

“Officers do this kind of stuff all the time and it’s important that people realize that we are out to help people,” he told MyMCM.

Rodgers also said it is a good idea for people to keep a fire extinguisher in their cars in case they come across a similar emergency before police and fire rescue personnel get to the scene.
