Partnership Puts Sanitizer in the Hands of Local First Responders

A public-private partnership has led to a solution for local first responders during the current health crisis.

Some local distilleries, wineries, and a compounder pharmacist came together to help make hand sanitizer that is being distributed to first responders regularly as they fight on the front lines during the COVID-19 outbreak. The partnership was formed when officials started to notice how hard it was to get disinfectants, personal protective equipment and cleaning supplies during the coronavirus pandemic.

Montgomery County’s Department of General Services Chief Operating Officer Jamie Cooke spoke with MyMCMedia about how the process works.

Cooke says the partnership is also going to help get more personal protective equipment for local first responders.
