Original: A man was killed Wednesday morning while walking down a road in Germantown after being struck by a driver, according to Montgomery County police.
It happened Wednesday around 7:30 a.m. at Route 355 (Frederick Road) and Ridge Road. That’s when a driver in a 2022 Toyota Corolla was headed south on Route 355 and struck the pedestrian. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver stayed at the crash site.
Route 355 was closed in both directions between Ridge Road and Henderson Corner Road, but reopened around 11 a.m., according to the Metropolitan Area Transportation Operations Coordination program.
The name of the victim will be shared after notifying next of kin.
