Police Investigate Armed Robbery of Bethesda Gas Station

Police released surveillance photos of a suspect in an armed robbery of a gas station in Bethesda on Friday.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) asks for the public’s help identifying the suspect.

According to police, officers responded to the Exxon gas station in the 8200 block of Wisconsin Ave. at about 4:30 a.m.

Police said the suspect entered the gas station, pointed a handgun at the employee, and demanded he open the register. After the register was open the suspect demanded the employee get on the ground. The suspect stole money and merchandise before leaving.

Police described the suspect as “a Black male, in his mid-twenties, approximately 5-feet, 7-inches to 5-feet, 8-inches tall, wearing a black full-face mask, grey hoodie, black jeans and black and white sneakers.” MCPD asks anyone with information to give a tip by calling 1-866-411-8477 or by going to the Crime Solvers of Montgomery County website and clicking www.p3tips.com. Up to $10,000 is offered for information that leads to arrest. Tips can be anonymous.
