Police said a man was arrested and charged after firing a handgun in a parking lot in the Hillandale area of Silver Spring.
Ryan Omar Lackonsingh, 37, was taken into custody without incident, per a release from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
According to police, officers were conducting a traffic stop at about 2:24 a.m. and heard the sound of gunshots nearby. Police said that a man — who detectives identified as Lackonsingh — was in a residential parking lot in the 1700 block of Hampshire Green Lane firing a handgun with an extended magazine.
Police said no injuries were reported.
Lackonsingh surrendered himself after negotiations and was taken into custody without incident, police said.
He is charged with reckless endangerment and firearm-related charges, according to online case records. He is a resident of the Hampshire Green Lane area, according to his listed address.
