Police say a man died after a shooting early Friday morning in Silver Spring.
According to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), at about 3:05 a.m., police officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) responded to the 8500 block of 16th St. for a reported shooting. Officers found a man with an “apparent gunshot wound” and he was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police confirmed the victim died.
The suspect has not been apprehended. Police said investigators believe it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.
