Police: Three 18-Year-Olds Charged in Store Burglaries

Police said three 18-year-olds have been arrested and charged in relation to a local commercial burglary trend.

Jefry Stevent Padilla-Sanchez of Silver Spring, Josue Membreno of Washington D.C., and Edward Canales of no fixed address have been charged with store burglaries in Wheaton and Silver Spring, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).

According to police, officers saw a stolen Kia Sol on Thursday. They later determined the three suspects inside forced entry into three stores and removed cash registers and drawers.

Police stated that at about 2:54 a.m., the suspects went into Dunkin Donuts in the 100 block of University Blvd. Then, at about 3:07 a.m., they went into Subway in the 11330 block of Georgia Ave. About 10 minutes later around 3:17 a.m., they entered Kemp Mill Beer & Wine in the 1330 block of Lamberton Dr.

Canales, Membreno and Padilla-Sanchez were taken into custody without incident after a traffic stop, according to police.

They were charged with multiple counts of second-degree burglary, theft of $1,500 to under $25,000, and auto theft-related charges, according to MCPD. They are being held without bond.
