Former Montgomery County first grade teacher is sentenced to over 12 years in federal prison for fentanyl trafficking.
36-year-old Sarah Katherine Magid taught at Dr. Charles R. Drew Elementary in Silver Spring.
Magid has previously been accused of selling drugs in the school parking lot in between her shifts in 2024, according to court documents.
In March of 2024, Magid sold oxycodone hydrochloride pills to the victim after messaging back and forth. An affidavit details these messages between the two to meet at an undisclosed elementary school.
It was later confirmed the pills contained fentanyl, leaving the victim deceased following the transaction.
Magid was later arrested in August after the DEA performed a formal search and seizure warrant in her home, according to the Montgomery Police Department.
Magid is formally charged with 151 months in federal prison followed by 3 years of supervised release. She is also ordered to pay $25,090 in restitution.
