Stars Come Out at KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Pro-Am

Some of the world’s top players were out at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda on Tuesday for the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Pro-Am where professionals play a round of golf with amateurs who pay for the privilege.

Nelly Korda, 23 and ranked number two in the world, is the defending PGA champion. She played the newly renovated Blue Course at Congressional Tuesday for the first time and came away impressed.

Korda was not the only star on the course Tuesday. Washington Nationals great Ryan Zimmerman and Washington Capitals all-star defenseman John Carlson were Pro-Am participants.

The recently retired Zimmerman is fresh off a three-day loveliest at Nationals Park in which he was feted by his former team and teammates for his stellar career.
