Watkins Mill High School is now secure after Montgomery County Police located a student who had a firearm. That student currently is in police custody.
Police officers responded to the high school in Gaithersburg at 12:16 p.m. The school was placed on hold status, but the campus is now secure, police said.
MCPD responded to Watkins Mill High School at approximately 12:16 p.m., for the report of a student with a firearm. @MCPS placed the school in a hold status while the investigation was conducted.
