Takoma Park Mail Carrier Robbed at Gunpoint

A mail carrier on his delivery route in the 7400 block of Holly Avenue in Takoma Park was approached at gunpoint by two suspects on Thursday, according to Takoma Park Police.

The suspects took personal property from the mail carrier at about 1:15 p.m. and then fled on foot toward Cedar Avenue. There they got into a black sedan waiting for them.

The suspects are described as Black males, between five-foot six-inches and five-foot eight-inches, weighting between 150 and 180 pounds and in their twenties. Both were last seen wearing black T-shirts, gray jackets and blue jeans and face masks.

The mail carrier was not seriously injured.

The investigation has been turned over to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Anyone with information should call the postal police at 877-875-2455 and ask for the public information office.
