Takoma Park Police: 3 Juveniles Apprehended for Carjacking

Officers apprehended three juveniles in Takoma Park for a carjacking, according to police.

A carjacking occurred in Silver Spring at about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, and the vehicle was going into the City of Takoma Park, per a release from the Takoma Park Police Department.

Takoma Park Police officers saw the vehicle in the 8100 block of Carroll Avenue at 5:45 p.m. but lost sight at New Hampshire Avenue and Merrimac Drive. A few minutes later, the vehicle was found in the 6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue, according to police.

As officers approached, three suspects got out and tried to flee on foot, but were apprehended. They were juveniles and were released to parents/guardians..

Police said charges are pending in Montgomery County and Takoma Park.
