Two Juveniles Arrested for Germantown Carjacking

Two juveniles are being held without bond in connection with a strong-arm carjacking in Germantown on March 25.

A 16-year-old from Rockville and a 17-year-old from Washington, D.C., were arrested and charged with carjacking and conspiracy carjacking. They were charged as adults.

Montgomery County Police went to a Sunoco gas station in the 19200 block of Frederick Road following a report of a carjacking at 4:30 p.m.

According to police, an adult male had finished pumping gas and was entering his car when he saw the two juveniles run toward him. They forced the door open and grabbed the victim, demanding his keys.

The victim complied, and the juveniles got into the car. However, they were not able to drive a manual transmission so they ran out of the car and fled on foot, police said.

Less than 30 minutes later, police saw the juveniles in the 19000 block of Frederick Road. When the officers attempted to apprehend them, they ran away but were taken into custody after a brief foot chase.
