A two-vehicle crash in Silver Spring Friday morning resulted in the death of one of the drivers.
Montgomery County Police and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Good Hope Road and Good Hope Drive at around 9:05 a.m. A Ford F150 and a black Acura RDX had collided, and the driver of the Acura was in cardiac arrest.
Despite performing on-site medical care, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford and a four-year-old were taken to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, according to police.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver of the Acura crossed the centerline of the road and struck the Ford, which was headed eastbound, according to police.
Good Hope Road was closed from Twig Road to Cape May Road, but has since reopened.
UPDATE: The two-vehicle collision on Good Hope Rd. is now being investigated as a fatality.
One adult male pronounced dead on scene.
