Video Shows Roof Being Blowing Off in Boyds During Friday Tornado

Maryland was hit with an unheard of five tornados on Friday according to the National Weather Service. Since 1950, a grand total of four tornados had hit the state in the month of February.

Two of the five tornados hit Montgomery County: one in Dickerson and one in Germantown/Boyds area. The latter hit the Warrior Canine Connection – a therapeutic service dog-training center – very hard. No people or dogs were hurt but there was significant structural damage.

Manager of External Relations at Warriors Canine Connection, Allison Pitcher, told MyMCMedia, “We’re still assessing damages and determining what the next steps are, but eager to get back to our mission of serving Veterans.”
