Wheaton and Germantown Host Festivities for the 4th

For residents looking for a way to enjoy the All -American holiday, Montgomery County Recreation and Montgomery Parks celebrate Independence Day with two events –  on Saturday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 4,

On July 1 Mid-County Sparkles will host live music from 6 – 10 p.m. at Newport Mill Local Park, located next to Albert Einstein High School. Attendees can listen to performances from local Latin pop band Ocho de Bastos and a tribute to popular musical group Earth, Wind & Fire.

Germantown Glory will celebrate on Independence Day starting at 7 p.m. at South Germantown Recreational Park. A live music performance will feature R&B/Rock group Forever Tina, a tribute band to the late queen of rock and roll.  The firework display will start at approximately 9:15 p.m.
