On Monday evening, around 5:31 p.m., Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service and the Montgomery County Police Department responded to the Woodglen Drive area near Whole Foods in Rockville in response to reports of a single-vehicle collision in the parking garage. The preliminary investigation reveals that a Toyota RAV4 struck a cable barricade within the parking garage entrance area for reasons that remain under investigation.
Once crews responded and located the female driver, they began “aggressively” administering CPR to her. Despite the quick response, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Crews also evaluated the passenger of the Toyota, who was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation continues. A news release will be issued when more information becomes available, including the name of the decedent, following proper notification of next of kin.
