Motorcycles collide in Rockville leaving one dead

A collision involving two motorcycles proved deadly in Rockville on Sunday. 20-year-old Jacob James Hale of Rockville did not survive the accident. Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating the fatal incident. At approximately 1:16 a.m., 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Norbeck Road and Hannans Way for the report of a collision involving two motorcycles.
The investigation reveals that a black 2007 Honda CBR600 and a white-and-black 2006 Honda CBR600 were traveling westbound on Norbeck Road when they made contact. Both operators lost control, and their motorcycles left the roadway. Hale, the operator of the black 2007 Honda CBR600, subsequently struck a curb and a traffic sign support. The operator of the 2006 Honda remained at the scene and was uninjured during the collision.
This remains an active investigation and may take several weeks to months to complete. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
Family members have set up a GoFundMe account for James Hale:
“James was the kind of person you could always count on, whether you needed a helping hand or someone to listen. He was lovable, generous, and always ready to support those around him. He had a passion for helping everyone around him and treating them well. His sudden passing in a motorcycle accident has left a massive void in all of our hearts, and the pain of losing him is something his family and friends are struggling to navigate. As Jacob’s family faces this unimaginable loss, we want to surround them with as much community support as possible. The funds raised through this GoFundMe will help cover all funeral expenses and any other expenses Jacob’s family might deal with during this time, ensuring Jacob can have a proper funeral, and his family can lay him to rest without financial stress”.
