2024 Primary Election 8th Congressional District
Montgomery County voters will cast their ballots in the 8th Congressional District, currently represented by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Takoma Park), who is running for reelection. Raskin has held the office since his election in 2016.
The 8th Congressional District includes most of Montgomery County and a small part of Prince George’s County. The communities of Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Gaithersburg, Potomac, Rockville, Takoma Park, and Silver Spring are included in the 8th district.
U.S. Representatives are elected to two year terms. The office does not have a term limit. Maryland has eight of the 435 congressional districts.
The 2024 Presidential primary election takes place May 14. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Early voting is available from May 2 to 9 at 14 early voting centers throughout Montgomery County. Montgomery Community Media invited all candidates in this race to record a video statement.
