2024 Primary Election U.S. Senate
Maryland voters will elect a new U.S. Senator to fill the seat currently held by Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Baltimore), who is retiring at the end of 2024. Sen. Cardin is Maryland’s senior senator and has served three terms.
U.S. Senators are elected to six year terms. The office does not have a term limit. Senator Chris Van Hollen serves currently as Maryland junior senator.
The 2024 Presidential primary election takes place May 14. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Early voting is available from May 2 to 9 at 14 early voting centers throughout Montgomery County. Montgomery Community Media invited all candidates in this race to record a video statement.
