1. Primary Election Update: With all the mail-in ballots counted over the weekend, the race for the County Executive Democratic candidate is still too close to call. Incumbent Marc Elrich leads challenger David Blair by 42 votes. Elrich claims victory and Blair set to request a full recount.

2. Fair Countdown: Four days until the gates open for the 73rd Montgomery County Agricultural Fair. The fair offers animal exhibits, carnival rides, food and so much more.

3. ‘Clear the Shelters’ Event: Adoption fees for all animals are waived during August at the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center during the month of August.

4. Long Branch Library Reopens: The library is scheduled to reopen today after a temporary closure. Repairs to the building’s heating and cooling system and plumbing necessitated the closure.

5. Metrorail Track Work:   Red Line trains will single track between Silver Spring and Forest Glen stations this week, Monday through Thursday after 10 p.m. Crews will be working on rail and fasteners.
