1. Quince Orchard Wins State Title: For the second year in a row, the Quince Orchard Cougars (14-0) are Maryland’s class 4A state champions. Quince Orchard beat the Flowers Jaguars, 32-7 Thursday. This was Qunice Orchard’s 28th win in a row and also marked head coach John Kelley’s 100th career win since taking over the reins in 2014.

2. Deadline to RSVP for Monday’s Inauguration: County Executive Marc Elrich and the members of the 20th Montgomery County Council will take the oath of office on Monday, Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore. Reservations to attend the ceremony in-person can be made until 5 p.m. today. The ceremony will be streamed live.

3. Damascus Plays for State Football Championship:  The Damascus Swarmin’ Hornets (11-1) will play the Oakdale Bears (11-2) in the Maryland class 3A state championship Saturday in Annapolis. 5. Holiday ‘Barket’ in Bethesda:  Cabin John Regional Park is the place to be this Saturday for dogs and their people. Montgomery Parks hosts its first dog-themed holiday market on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cabin John Regional Park in Bethesda.
