1. Hypothermia Alert: Montgomery County activated the Extreme Cold Plan for a Hypothermia Alert until 1 p.m.

2. Green Buildings Press Conference: At 8:55 a.m., U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen will join county councilmembers for a virtual press conference about the passage of the Montgomery County Green Buildings Now Act. It will be livestreamed on Councilmember Tom Hucker’s Facebook page and on the council’s Facebook page.

3. Weekly COVID-19 Briefing: County Executive Marc Elrich and health leaders will hold their media briefing at 12:30 p.m. Residents can watch live on MCM channels 21 and 995 (HD), County Cable Montgomery and on the county’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

4. Senior Planet: Senior Planet Montgomery continues to offer free Zoom classes to senior residents. Today’s classes include “Virtual Museum Tours” and “Zoom Q&A.”

5. New Team Name: The Washington Football Team is set to announce its new team name today.
