1. County Council Committees: The Montgomery County Council Government Operations & Economic Development, Health and Human Services and Public Safety committees will meet today staring 9:30 a.m.

2. Commission on Aging: The Commission on Aging (COA) serves as an advocate for the health, safety and well-being of the County’s older residents and their Public Policy Committee will host a virtual meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30.

3. Korean American Day: A number of U.S. states have declared January 13 as Korean American Day in order to recognize Korean Americans’ impact and contributions. In recognition of Montgomery County’s religious, ethnic and cultural diversity and in respect for the diversity of its own workforce, on March 28, 2006, the County Council passed legislation ( Bill No. 1-06: Special Days of Commemoration ) to designate certain days of commemoration relating to the religious, ethnic and cultural heritage of County residents.

4. Oak Chapel UM Hub Food Distribution: Drive-thru food distribution every Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at 14500 Layhill Rd., Silver Spring, MD 20906.
