5 Things to Know Today, June 17, In Montgomery County

It’s Friday, June 17 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County:

1. I-270 Traffic Alert:  The right shoulder and two right lanes of southbound 270 before I-370 will be shut down at least until Monday. Crews are repairing a large sinkhole.

2. Last Day of School: Summer break starts today for students attending public schools. And it is an early release day.

4. Summer Concert: The free concert takes place from 6–8 p.m. at The Streetery, located at the corner of Norfolk and St. Elmo Avenues in Bethesda. Guitarist Jay Byrd & The Musical Trust perform tonight.

5. Friday Night Salsa:  It will take place in a pop-up park at Grand Park Avenue and Banneker Street by the Montgomery County Conference Center garage Friday nights from 6 to 9 p.m.
