1. New Speed Cameras: Montgomery County Police announced six new automated cameras in “high-risk areas” such as school zones and roads that have a history of serious crashes. Two of the cameras were painted by kids who attended the police department’s Take Your Child to Work Day event.

2. Purple Line: Wayne Avenue between Flower Avenue and Sligo Creek Parkway in Silver Spring is expected to be closed overnight from 10 p.m.-4 a.m. for Purple Line wire installation. See detours here

3. Takoma Park Council: The Takoma Park City Council will meet starting at 7:30 p.m. at 7500 Maple Ave.
