5 Things to Know Today, Nov. 22, In Montgomery County

Today is Monday, Nov. 22, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Council Media Briefing: Council President Tom Hucker and Vice President Gabe Albornoz will hold a media briefing today at 11:30 a.m. to discuss masking requirements, COVID-19 vaccinations for children ages five to 11, and the upcoming climate town hall. The briefing will be streamed on the Council’s Facebook page here.

2. MCPS Early Release Day:  Students at Montgomery County Public Schools get to enjoy a half day.

3. PitchMasters Workshop:  Businesses may want to participate in the free webinar hosted by Shulman Rogers, MD Tech Council and Seed Spot. The virtual webinar is scheduled for today from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. More information and registration is available on the PitchMasters webpage.

4. Municipal Monday:  The Gaithersburg Mayor and Council meet virtually at 7:30 p.m. tonight. The results from the city’s budget survey is one of the items on their agenda. The Rockville Mayor and Council meet virtually at 7 p.m. The public may participate virtually, instructions are in the agenda.

5. Dance Competition:  The annual MCPS latin dance competition takes place tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda. The competition is in its 23rd year. MyMCM captured this video from the 2019 competition:
