5 Things to Know Today, Sept. 15, In Montgomery County

Today is Wednesday, Sept. 15, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Weekly Media Briefing: County Executive Marc Elrich, Acting Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Dr. Earl Stoddard and other officials will hold their media briefing at 12:30 p.m. Residents can watch live on MCM channels 21 and 995 (HD), County Cable Montgomery and on the county’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

2. COVID-19 Vaccines: There are free COVID-19 vaccine clinics throughout the county today. Make an appointment here.

3. Procurement Online Open House: From 10-11 a.m. the Office of Procurement will hold its monthly Online Open House. This month’s guest speaker is Kim Cullen, Director of Marketing for BidNet Direct. Attendants can learn how to submit solicitations online using the platform. No registration is required. Join on Microsoft Teams here.

4. Outdoor Family Storytime: At 10:30 a.m., Montgomery County Public Libraries has outdoor family storytime opportunities at Kensington Park Library and Wheaton Library. Bring a blanket to sit on.

5. Senior Planet: Senior Planet Montgomery continues to offer free Zoom classes to senior residents. Today’s classes include “Fit Fusion Workout” and “Worthwhile Wednesday: All Things Zoom.”
