As of 5 p.m., WSSC Water’s essential water use request has been lifted.
The Potomac filtration plant is producing water and the system is back to normal levels, according to WSSC. Power “remains stable and adequate.” The plant continues operating under a temporary workaround while crews work toward a permanent solution.
The essential water use request was in effect since 8:45 a.m. Tuesday for all customers in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties due to a power outage at the Potomac plant.
