5 Things to Know Today, Sept. 20, In Montgomery County

Today is Monday, Sept. 20, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Council Committee Meetings:  The Planning, Housing and Economic Development Committee (PHED) and the Public Safety Committee (PS) meet Monday. 2. Council Media Briefing: Council President Tom Hucker, Vice President Gabe Albornoz, and Councilmember Nancy Navarro are holding a media briefing today at 11 a.m. to discuss Tuesday’s Council meeting and the planned Hispanic Heritage Month commemoration. Deputy Health Officer Dr. James Bridgers will provide a public health update. The briefing will be streamed on the Council’s Facebook here.

3. Municipal Monday: The Mayor and Council of Gaithersburg meet virtually at 7:30 p.m.; the agenda may be found here. The Mayor and Council of Rockville hold a virtual meeting at 7 p.m. The meeting agenda may be found here.

4. Harvest Moon:  Make sure you look up tonight to see the full moon, which is known as the Harvest Moon. It is the last full moon before the autumnal equinox.
