Board of Education set to discuss fate of its only charter school
The meeting will be broadcast live on Comcast Channel 34 (HD 1071), Verizon Channel 36, and RCN Channel 89, and will also be streamed on the MCPS website.
2. Fire and Emergency Services Commission
Meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the lobby conference rooms of the PSHQ, located at 100 Edison Park Drive, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20878.

3. Alcohol and Other Drug Addiction Advisory Council
Meeting from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The Alcohol and Other Drug Addiction Advisory Council (AODAAC) meets monthly to discuss and continue learning about substance use issues facing our community. AODAAC provides guidance to the County Executive and County Council to identify alcohol and other drug prevention and treatment needs in Montgomery County and reviews the County’s efforts to address those needs.

4. 2026 Winter Olympics
Montgomery County natives Caroline Green and Michael Parsons have been competing in ice dancing for many years. They will participate in the U.S. Figure Skating Championship in St. Louis, Missouri, on January 8 and 10th.
5. ICYMI: In October, a student at Earle B Wood Middle School was killed on her bike after school. Soon after the Washington Post noted a February incident. Then, a Wood MS mom contacted us about her child being struck by a pickup truck. MCM looked for answers about these ongoing dangers to school children.
