A Frederick resident has been charged in connection with a fatal crash in August of 2025 in Germantown.
Dione Jordan, 27, was charged with manslaughter by vehicle – gross negligence, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.
The crash occurred Aug. 20, 2025 near the intersection of Frederick and Ridge roads in Germantown. Investigators determined that Jordan was driving a black 2022 Toyota Corolla south on Frederick Road when he struck Branden Corey Williams, 34, who was crossing the highway. According to police, Williams was crossing Frederick Road 40 feet south of the nearest crosswalk.
Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police investigation revealed that Jordan was traveling about 70 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour zone as he approached the intersection. He apparently accelerated in an attempt to get through the intersection before the light turned red.
Jordan posted 10% of a $10,000 bond and was released. His trial is scheduled for March 23.
