Gaithersburg man killed in vehicle crash with Ride On bus

A Gaithersburg man was killed on Friday, May 1, following a collision at the intersection of Midcounty Highway and Woodfield Road between his vehicle and Ride On bus.

Alexander Junior Norris, 59, of Gaithersburg, received life-saving efforts but was pronounced dead at the scene in Gaithersburg before 5 a.m., according to Montgomery County police.

Montgomery County and Gaithersburg City police officers, and County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the site.

According to a police investigation, a 2014 Ride On bus was headed westbound on the Midcounty Highway while a green 2013 Kia Soul was headed southbound on Woodfield Road when the two vehicles collided. At that time, the traffic signals were operating in nighttime flash mode.

An adult female passenger in the Kia was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ride On bus was uninjured, and no passengers were on board.
