5 things to know today, July 14, in Montgomery County

It’s Tuesday, July 14, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County. Check the weather forecast here.

1. Election Audit: State law requires a risk-limiting audit after each primary and general election.

At 10 a.m., the Montgomery County Board of Elections will do the risk-limiting audit for the primary at 18753 N. Frederick Avenue, Suite 203, in Gaithersburg. It is open to the public and will also be livestreamed here.

The Board will manually tally a sample of votes in the Republican primary for governor, and compare the results against results from the voting system. The purpose is to confirm the accuracy of results in the primary. See more here

2. County Council: The County Council meets at 10 a.m. The agenda includes an afternoon public hearing on a bill to address unlawful racing and street takeovers. View agendaView livestream

3. Coffee With a Cop: From 8-11 a.m., residents can join Takoma Park Police Department officers for a cup of coffee at Springmill Bread Co. at 7300 Carroll Ave. See more here

4. Star Wars Trivia: At 6 p.m., Pinstripes in North Bethesda will host Star Wars Trivia. See more here
