5 Fire-Related Deaths Prompts Rescue Service’s Call to Action Safety Campaign

In the wake of several fire-related deaths in the community, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) has scheduled a county-wide fire safety campaign this weekend which will follow general safety guides and practice fire escape plans for both residential buildings and apartment complexes.

Pete Piringer, chief spokesperson for MCFRS, tweeted, “In 23 days from Jan 31 – Feb 23 there have been 5 residential fire-related deaths w/ distinction of being among deadliest such period in @MontgomeryCoMD history.”

MCFRS will visit several neighborhoods Friday-Sunday to demonstrate safety protocols to residents.
