The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), in partnership with Women Building Washington offered a week-long camp for young women interested in construction.
The camp held at Thomas Edison High School from Aug. 1-4 gave participants hands on opportunities, while also raising awareness on future career paths.
In 2021, women represented 11% of the construction industry, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
