County Considers COVID-19 Vaccine Passport Program To Help Mitigate Transmission

This week, COVID-19 transmission rates in Montgomery County increased from substantial to high, according to Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data.

Local health leaders say most positive cases are among the unvaccinated population.

To help mitigate transmission and encourage those who are unvaccinated to get the shot, county officials say there are plans to possibly develop a COVID-19 vaccine passport.

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and County Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles explain how the vaccine passport will help keep environments safe and help prevent another lockdown.
