County COVID-19 Cases Top 20,000, Seven Day Positive Average at 2.47%

The Maryland Department of Health on Monday recorded 60 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery. That brings the total infections over 20,000 since the start of the pandemic.

With a lower rate than 15 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions, the county had a rolling seven-day average of 2.47% for positive COVID-19 tests.

Montgomery County has led the state in coronavirus-related fatalities with a pandemic total of 781. Prince George’s County, however, has led the state in coronavirus infections with a current count of 26,215.

The state recorded 458 new infections Monday, bringing its total to 108,249. Three new deaths were reported, making the pandemic death toll 3,612. Maryland’s seven-day rolling average for test positivity was 3.26%.
