As of Sunday, the Maryland Department of Health reports 5,150 cases of COVID-19 in Montgomery County, which is an increase of 231 cases from the 4,919 reported Saturday.
There are 1,100 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in residents and staff of senior living facilities and 149 deaths in the county. This is unchanged since Saturday.
As of Sunday morning, there were 25,462 confirmed cases throughout the state. That is an increase of 989 cases in the last 24 hours. There were 1,182 deaths, an increase of 26.
Maryland COVID-19 Statistics
In Maryland, 4,718 people have been hospitalized since the outbreak of COVID-19. This is an increase of 159. On Sunday, 1,635 Marylanders were hospitalized, which is 22 fewer than Saturday. This marks the second day in a row that the number decreased.
Throughout the state, 1,600 hospital beds are being used for COVID-19 patients. That is down about 1,000 beds since April 30.
A total of 8,871 cases and 500 deaths involve the state’s African American community. That is 18 additional deaths since Saturday.
There have been 4,707 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 533 deaths in nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the state. This number includes residents and staff.
