Elrich Clarifies Confusion Over CDC’s ‘Wrongly Interpreted’ New Mask Guidance

County leaders are well aware that many people in the community – and across the country – are confused about the new CDC face mask guidelines for those who are fully vaccinated.

Some have interpreted the new guidelines to mean that there’s no need for anyone to wear a mask anymore, but that’s not the case says Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich.

“Even if you’re fully vaccinated, coverings are still required in public places such as schools, child care facilities, public transportation…and any business can require masks,” said Elrich during his weekly virtual media briefing on Wednesday.
