Elrich: ‘We’re Trying to Ramp Our Testing Back Up’

Montgomery County’s free COVID-19 testing clinics are ramping back up.

Last month, testing at all county-sponsored sites was temporarily shut down after Maryland’s department of health raised questions about protocols with test kits from AdvaGenix – a lab based in Rockville. The county has since terminated its contract with AdvaGenix.

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich says clinics are now available at several local locations daily.

During his weekly virtual media briefing on Wednesday, both Elrich and county health officer Dr. Travis Gayles explained plans to continuously improve testing efforts. Here are some highlights:
