Gaithersburg Native Visits Own Creation in Pro Football Hall of Fame

A Gaithersburg native recently got to see her own creation in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Monica Blakely and Passion for Ezra, her custom apparel business, gained notoriety earlier this year when the company created the jacket and shoes worn by football mom Donna Kelce at Super Bowl LVII.

Donna Kelce’s older son Jason Kelce played for the Philadelphia Eagles while her younger son Travis Kelce played against him on the Kansas City Chiefs. The apparel Passion for Ezra created allowed her to support and represent both sons and their teams.

Though Donna Kelce decided to keep the jacket, she chose to donate the shoes to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

“When I got the information that the Hall of Fame was wanting the shoes, my heart dropped to my toes,” Blakely told myMCM. “When I found out that they actually had gotten the shoes, that was even more amazing.”

Last week, Blakely and her family had the opportunity to see the shoes in their new home for the first time. It was a meaningful and once in a lifetime experience to share with her daughter, she said.

“How many kids can actually say that their mom has something in the Pro Football Hall of Fame? Not very many,” Blakely said.

Moving forward, Blakely hopes to further expand to sports beyond football. Recently, she created a custom jersey and shoes for Wendy Lowe, the mother of Major League Baseball players Josh Lowe and Nathaniel Lowe. Wendy Lowe wore the apparel when the brothers’ teams played against each other for the first time so she could represent both her sons.

Passion for Ezra operates out of Columbia and Olney/Rockville and is a veteran-owned and female-owned small business. Learn more about Passion for Ezra on their website, Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.
