Man Arrested for Dollar Tree, Dunkin’ Donuts Robberies

Montgomery County police arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with three November robberies in Germantown.

Hakeem Morris allegedly robbed the Dollar Tree at the 18000 block of Mateny Road twice, on Nov. 9 and Nov. 18. Morris is also charged with robbing a nearby Dunkin’ Donuts location on Nov. 20.

The Dollar Tree and Dunkin’ Donuts are located in the Cloppers Mill Village shopping complex, near Northwest High School.

Police described the first Dollar Tree incident as a strong-arm robbery. Morris allegedly entered the store and picked out some items, then towards a checkout counter. The suspect then approached an employee working at the counter from behind and pushed them. After a short struggle, the suspect took money out of the cash register and fled the scene.

In the other two robberies, Morris allegedly took money from cash registers and fled the scene without any further incident.

Police arrested Morris on Nov. 21 after obtaining an arrest warrant. He has since been released on a $5,000 bond, according to a Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) press release.
