The return to in-person learning for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) has been delayed from Feb. 1, to March 15, 2021, but only if health metrics are met or guidance on the COVID-19 vaccine distribution is adjusted.
MCPS Superintendent Dr. Jack Smith, along with Deputy Superintendent Dr. Monifa McKnight, made recommendations regarding the return to in-person instruction to the Board of Education during a virtual meeting on Tuesday. All but one member of the Board voted for approval. Rebecca Smondrowski opposed the recommendation.
